QC’s tutors are successful design professionals, many of whom have completed a QC design course and have gone on to have successful careers in the industry. These experts are eager to share their professional insight and help you achieve your career goals as a home designer!

Angie Chapman

Award-winning interior design consultant and QC tutor Angie Chapman has always loved all aspects of interior design, decorating and architecture. After receiving diplomas in both Interior Design and Decorating and Home Staging from the Sheffield School of Interior Design, Angie started her own business, Interiors Just for You, in Peterborough, Ontario in 1998.

Her home design expertise lies in bringing a dull room back to life, as well as working closely with her clients to create spaces that reflect their unique personalities. In 2004, Angie expanded Interiors Just for You to include home staging, and acts as a consultant to both local real estate agents and homeowners.

Angie became a tutor with QC Design School in 2006 and loves seeing the passion that QC students have for design, as well as their progression through the course to the final project.

Ivy Ellerby

For Accredited Staging Professional and Advanced Feng Shui Design Professional Ivy Ellerby, the inspiration to pursue a design career started at a very young age. Ivy’s background in clinical and experimental psychology allows her to use feng shui to increase harmony and balance in her clients’ homes.

As a consultant at Eastern Design and Home Staging, Ivy uses her knowledge of feng shui and home staging to help consumers increase profits on home sales and implement new design ideas into their living spaces.

As a tutor at QC Design School, Ivy is passionate about supporting students who want a career in the home design industry. She always encourages her students to put as much effort as possible into their online training assignments, as they provide excellent opportunities to practice real-life design projects!

Christina Kittelstad

Christina Kittelstad is an accomplished color expert and owner of Spiral Design Color Consulting in Lakewood, Colorado. Through her lifelong passion for all things color, Christina brings a high level of creativity, professionalism, and talent to every project. She partners with residential and commercial clients and is best known for creating beautiful, functional spaces on any budget. She provides clients with a strong sense of style and personality that is uniquely their own. Christina strongly believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of incorporating color into their lives, homes, and community.

The work of Spiral Design Color Consulting has been featured on HGTV’s House Hunters, Houzz, The Denver Post, Mile High Newspaper, Renew Remodeling Magazine, and others.

Tammy Hart

Tammy Hart, IDDP, CAPS, is a graduate and tutor of QC Design School. She is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist from the National Association of Home Builders. She is the owner and award-winning designer for Designer Chick Co. and is the previous director on the National Board for DDA (formerly CDECA).

She is a professional speaker, speaking at venues like IIDEXCanada and The Small Business Forum. She’s been featured in East of the City Magazine, as a guest spot on the Rogers Daytime Durham talk show and has won the HOUZZ Service Award 2017. She works to empower young women to become successful future leaders and supports ocean clean-up efforts.

Lianne Cousvis

Lianne Cousvis is a decorating and design professional with a love of color. She graduated from QC Design School with certifications in decorating (IDDP), staging and redesign (ISRP), color consulting (ICCP), and professional organizing (AIOP). Lianne grew up in the Bahamas where color is celebrated, and now owns her own design company ChiChi Fringo Designs in Toronto, Canada. She loves to mix colors, textures, and patterns. Lianne has worked in the creative field in film and television for the last 20 years and continues to be inspired by design on a daily basis. Lianne looks forward to inspiring you and hopes we can all live in color!

Patrizia Boland

Designing interiors and my beautiful family are the two greatest passions in Patrizia’s life. Patrizia graduated from QC Design School as a certified International Design and Decorating Professional and went on to launch Boland Designs. Her approach to design is to take a holistic view of the client’s entire space and how they wish to live in it. Patrizia enjoys helping transform her client’s space into a beautiful environment that reflects their personality and functionality. Her goal is to make every client be proud to call their space home. As a QC tutor, Patrizia looks forward to helping students achieve their highest potential and continue their passion in the design & decorating industry.

Mel McCutcheon

Mel McCutcheon has been passionate about plants and trees since her early years growing up in Nova Scotia. As a Certified Horticulturalist through the University of Guelph and a Red Trade Certified Landscape Horticulturalist, Mel has worked hard to turn her passion into a thriving career.

She has over 20 years of experience in the landscape and horticulture industry and founded her own business, Bare Hands Landscaping and Design Inc., in 2012. Mel takes great care and pride in every landscape project she undertakes, from the simplest planting bed to a large-scale residential or commercial project.

As a tutor with QC Design School, Mel hopes to share her passion for plants and encourage students to take pride in their own work.

Megan Conway

Megan Conway is a scientist turned interior decorator and QC Design School graduate (IDDP). Megan’s vision is to change the way we think about interior decorating. Through her award-winning interior decorating business, Crave Your Home, Megan has modernized interior decorating by building a successful e-design company.

Specializing in online interior decorating allows Megan the flexibility she needs as a busy mom of two. Megan has felt one of her greatest motivators as a business owner is to have a supportive team around her to offer encouragement.

Megan’s goal is to be that support for her students so they too are confident and prepared to build the business of their dreams.

Tara Llewellyn

Tara Llewellyn is passionate about design and helping people realize the full value of their space. She is a graduate and tutor of QC Design School. Tara graduated with Home Staging and Home Re-Design Certifications. She has worked in the fast-paced real estate market of the Greater Toronto Area for the past 11 years.

Tara has developed and currently manages a Staging program for The Amy Flowers Team. The team has earned the honor of being ranked 7th in Canada 2020 as a Top Producer. The Staging program has been awarded the title of Favorite Home Stager for the past 3 years.

Tara has a creative and solution-oriented approach to the industry. She is excited to help prepare students for the exciting world of Home Staging.

Jane Lockhart

Many will recognize Jane from her television show, Color Confidential, which airs on both HGTV and W Network. In this program, Jane uses both her design expertise and kind demeanor to help people overcome their fear of color. As the host of QC Design School’s Color Consultant course videos, Jane teaches students how to use the color wheel in order to help clients choose the best colors for their home. She also demonstrates how to conduct a professional color consultation, as well as how to build a strong relationship between art and design in the home.

Jane’s achievements are not limited to designing and television – she’s also the best-selling author of two design books, Room Recipes: Cooking Up Style With Color, and Paint: A Great Impression. She also regularly lends her design expertise to various Canadian television shows such as The Marilyn Denis Show and CityTV’s Cityline.
