Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I am a Feng Shui Specialist and Home Stager. I opened my feng shui design and home staging business in 2017. I’ve finished many feng shui design courses to understand it and learn how to use it in everyday life!

After completing my feng shui design courses, I finished additional training in interior design, interior decorating, and home staging to combine with my feng shui expertise. I can write more about my experience and skills that make me a good fit for a career in feng shui design, but it comes down to my passion for design and feng shui.

Why did you start a feng shui design career?

As a kid, I had always wanted to know more about the world and the environment we live in. As I got older, I became more curious about creating balance in my life and enhancing my energy. So I decided to study feng shui, first by reading feng shui books. Then, I started implementing the rules of feng shui myself and the results were immediate.

Describe your favorite project so far!

My favorite project was a home staging job after a renovation. I was very excited because the house was big and had plenty of open space. Starting the job was hard, but after I chose the furniture and the rug, I started getting more and more ideas!

Why did you decide to earn your feng shui design certification online instead of off?

I have a busy life, and an online feng shui design course was the best solution for me. I was able to learn in the comfort in my own home and in my own space!

As a graduate of QC’s Home Staging Course, do you combine your staging services with feng shui?

I was in the middle of my Home Staging Course when I got a call one day. They told me that they wanted to sell their home quickly. They told me that they wanted to hire me specifically for my home staging and feng shui design skills.

Of course, I accepted this job. We sold the house within three months of me completing the staging and feng shui job.

What is the most common issue you’ve encountered when working in your clients’ homes?

With all the emphasis on good Ch’i for good feng shui, it is important to understand what makes good energy. You need to understand how it circulates in any given space and how to get into the habit of regularly checking the energy flow of your home.

One of the basic ways to check Ch’i flow in your home is to imagine Ch’i or energy as water. If water was to flow into your home from the main entrance, where would it stop or stagnate? Ideally, it would flow harmoniously and smoothly to all areas of your home, gently refreshing it.

I often revisit my clients’ homes two weeks after our initial consultation. Oftentimes, they will have printed extra maps to hang up around their homes from the internet!

I’m assuming that they’re reading feng shui tips here and there on the internet, which only gives them half the story (or less). It is not enough for anyone to do a comprehensive feng shui diagnosis.

They don’t prepare you to dissect the feng shui of your home. This prevents you from setting up good feng shui that brings long-term sustainable benefits to your life. And finally, there’s a good chance you’ll get the feng shui wrong and do more harm than good.

For instance, there are different ways to apply the Bagua map to your home. The basic rule is to use the front door for alignment, but that is not always the case. A skilled Feng Shui Consultant will know the best placement or remedy for your unique situation.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from QC’s Feng Shui Design Course?

Cleansing Ceremonies

Space cleansing is the most important thing in feng shui. I never ever recommend practicing feng shui without space clearing! Just as you see physical dust and dirt accumulating in your home as a result of daily activities, the same happens on energy levels. You may not see the “dust and dirt” of human emotions, but they do accumulate in any space. So it is best to clear them out regularly.

Office Feng Shui Tips

Feng shui helps with a variety of different problems. It can even help with problems in the workplace. Feng shui provides many tips on how to start a successful business. These are some of the common ones:

  • A person should always keep their office-space and their bedroom-space separated. The bedroom is a place to sleep. Mixing it with your office space can cause insomnia or a client can become increasingly sleepy while working. If a person has to set up their office in their bedroom, they should set up a divider between the desk and the bed. This keeps both spaces separate enough to avoid causing any problems.
  • A person should never setup their desk to face another person’s desk. This leads to bad feng shui and many arguments and complications. This is especially vital for people who share an office. If they want to get along better, they should reorient face-to-face desks.
  • All clutter should be cleared from the office space. Clutter creates confusion and chaos as well as unneeded and unwanted stress. Everything should be filed away and organized to help a business succeed. Being clutter-free also helps a person stay on top of their products and businesses.
